An extremely rare balustroid wine glass, having an ogee bowl above a hollow ball knop with four raspberry prunts with collars above and below containing a silver Maundy penny dated 1766,over a teared inverted baluster and basal knop stem, all on a plain conical foot.

Height 6 1/4 ins 15.9 cm

Unlike many coin glasses I am confident that the date on the coin is the date of the glass although the reason for it's insertion is like so many, unknown.
