A rare balustroid ale glass having a tall round funnel bowl engraved with a single hop and leaves with a pair of barley ears to the reverse, over a stem with shoulder knop , teared angular knop and basal knop , all on a folded conical foot.

Height 7 1/8th ins 18 cm

Balustroid ales are rare , Barrington Haynes says,,, tall ale glasses in this group (balustroid stems) are scarce ,,, and few are engraved , see Pl 68b for an almost identical glass
